REFLECTIONS

Some days are down days. And this is perfectly normal. But going through it can feel tough. Putting pen to paper to release thoughts, or pick up a paintbrush and paint some colours that reflect my mood, are both ways that I find helpful to keep distance from my river of thought and not become identified with shadows and doubt. Of course, sounding and using my voice to sing is helpful too, as is playing and listening to music. A walk in the fresh air and gazing at the vastness of the sky are all helpful. At dusk, the moon is a comfort to gaze at and marvel as the stars come out, one by one.

Life on Earth is a personal and collective journey. Keeping myself and my life in context of the greater whole goes a long way to lifting my spirits. I remember to put one foot in front of the other on this "heavier" day, and appreciate every bit of goodness in my life. I have only to gaze out the window and see bees busy on the tree blossom or golden autumn leaves fluttering in the breeze and I feel grateful and inspired to focus on what I CAN do and what I already HAVE.

Perspective is everything!
